“Ruth Jones is an accomplished tapestry artist who works in the Aubusson tradition. As a weaver she feels she has a commonality with all weavers of all nations, especially those of the Northwest Coast, who, she says, "look at me as someone who is practicing a craft that is part of their tradition as well." She weaves images that are sometimes political, sometimes spiritual, sometimes both, but always supreme examples of her technical virtuosity. One such tapestry is on permanent display at the Museum of Anthropology.”
